If your clips come in and you aren't hearing any sound from a specific source (either system audio or microphone), there are a few explanations that can be easily resolved:
1. If you were using the Athenascope Windows App:
- Double check your Athenascope sound settings. If there is a red speaker with an x next to your volume slider, that means that audio source is disabled on the client. Click it to re-enable it.
- Double check the source on both your System Audio and Microphone. We find it works best when you set both the System Audio and Microphone to Default, and then change your Default audio sources in your PC's Sound Settings to the sound devices you game with.
- Have you recently changed your audio devices (whether unplugging/plugging in new headset, switching microphones, or changing Defaults in Sound Settings)? If so, please restart the Athenascope Windows App and see if it's able to pick up sound now.
- Are you using audio filters or mixers like Voicemeeter or Soundflower? Try disabling these.
NOTE: If you are using a headset that uses a single aux plug for both microphone and headphone input, we strongly recommend using a splitter and plugging those headphones in to separate jacks to help the Client differentiate input/output source.
2. If you were using Twitch, Facebook, or OBS/SLOBS to stream to us:
- Double check the source on both your System Audio and Microphone in your broadcasting software. Check the full VOD of your stream as well - if there was an audio drop during your stream, Athena will also not be able to pick up that audio.
- Were you using music or content that could have resulted in DMCA takedown/muted audio? If so, Athena may not have been able to pick up audio from that portion of the VOD.
